                  Technology and Innovation——the Engine for Future Food
   In the present financial crisis, despite the unprecedented difficulties and challenges, China, as the leading emerging market of the Asia Pacific region and even the world, maintains a fast growth rate. The huge market perspective attracts more and more foreign investment. Food industry, in particular, is not only a battlefield for international tycoons but also a growing future for local Chinese food companies.
Meanwhile, with new situation of the ever rising cost of raw materials, announcement of new food safety laws and the changing of the consumers’ taste and demands, China’s food industry is facing new challenges. As people get more concerned about food’s functional characteristics due to income increase, the focus of the competition of food industry has shifted to the research and development of technology and innovation.
   Under such circumstances, following the huge success of the industry flagship event – Food Technology & Innovation Asia 2008, Global Leaders Institute will host the 2nd annual congress—Food Technology & Innovation Asia 2009 in Beijing, China and is supported by authority institutions from both home and abroad. Government officials, industry veterans as well as food technology experts and top decision makers from more than 100 leading food companies of research and development, material supply, food manufacture and package, retail & wholesale. Moreover, the summit is actively received and widely participated among the related technology and equipment suppliers. Based on last year’s successful experience, the summit this year will no doubt be promoted to a much higher level. The summit will mostly cover the areas of development trend of food industry and innovative strategy, successive food development and innovation, health and functional food, cost-effective innovation on food manufacturing & processing and modern solutions of food companies’ development. Speakers attended will deliver keynote speeches on these topics and others will join the heated discussion and make their own opinions.
   The second annual Food Technology & Innovation Asia 2009 will be a grand occasion, enhancing international communication and leading and piloting the future of food industry in Asia Pacific region and even the world.
